Immigrant Narratives

As South Florida’s climate changes, so will its culture. This virtual reality project that captures immersive video of the region’s people, development, and natural environments, focuses on the creation of immigrant narratives inside the Coral Gables Museum, shown above.

screen-shot-2016-11-26-at-12-27-25-pmThis project is part of a $50,000 grant from the City of Coral Gables to the FIU Libraries/GIS Center to create a mobile app focused on narratives of immigrant Bahamians, depicted in the sketch at right.

In addition to VR of local historical and cultural spaces, this project will provide content and design to a mobile app that will highlight immigrant stories.
